If you are an Indian Bank customer, here is some important news for you. The state-run bank is informing this to its customers. The bank has been advertising and informing customers about the erstwhile Allahabad Bank IFSC code. The Indian Bank will discontinue the existing IFSC of the erstwhile Allahabad Bank from 1 July 2021.  

From 1 July 2021, the new IFSC code of erstwhile Allahabad Bank will start with “IDIB” the bank has said.

“From 1st July 2021 new IFSC of erstwhile Allahabad Bank will be IDIB000c617,” the bank said in one of the advertisements published in a national daily. 

“Remember to use only Indian Bank IFSC (Indian Financial System Code) starting with IDBI instead of erstwhile Allahabad Bank IFSC starting with ALLA for hassle free receipt of inward “IMPS/NEFT/RTGS” transactions. Customers please note to inform the concerned remitters,” it said.  

It also says that customers can get an updated cheque book with new IFSC and MICR before 30 September 2021. 

How to get IFSC of your bank branch:  

• Visit the official website www.indianbank.in> Home Page> Amalgamation Tab>New IFSC/MICR/Branch Codes of erstwhile Allahabad Bank branches.  
• SMS: Customers can send message in the following format to 92668 01962 – IFSC<SPACE><OLD IFSC>. eg. – {IFSC ALLA0210999} 
• You can also call the customer care number 1800 425 00 000 
• You can also visit the branch to get the IFSC code.  

The Indian Bank, which has merged with the Allahabad Bank, carried out a software migration over in February this year. with the bank adding that services related to banking operations might be disrupted during this time period. 

“Our bank has scheduled technical migration of CBS/ITMS software of erstwhile Allahabad bank with CBS/ITMS software of Indian Bank on 13-14 February 2021,” the Indian Bank had earlier stated in a regulatory filing.
